Abstract

Dr. Ysselstein received his Ph. D in Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University studying protein-membrane interactions involved in Parkinson’s Disease in the lab of Dr. Chris Rochet. He then  studied mechanisms of neurodegeneration using induced pluripotent stem cell-derived models at Northwestern University. After 3 years as a Postdoc, he joined a new startup, Vanqua Bio. Vanqua Bio is a small biotech that has therapeutic programs for targeting neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases. He is currently the Director of Cell and Molecular Pharmacology at Vanqua Bio and oversee all the biology programs at the company. He is also responsible for hiring new scientists to join the Vanqua team.
