Outstanding Postgraduate Career Opportunities
The MCMP program has an outstanding record of meeting the academic and professional development needs of the students. Students graduating from MCMP have seamless transitions to high quality positions. MCMP graduates within the last 10 years were placed at top research institutions either as postdoctoral associates or in faculty positions after leaving the program (UT Southwestern, Stanford, Michigan, Scripps, Baylor, Minnesota etc.).
The MCMP program is an interdisciplinary environment that allows students to pursue academic and non-academic career options. Students are trained in a broad swath of drug discovery techniques and have strong foundational knowledge of both chemistry and biology. Graduates acquire both soft and hard skills that translate to both academia and industry. Students are exposed to non-academic careers in our seminar series and university workshops that include industry-affiliated speakers with recent visits by scientists from Novartis, Hospira/Pfizer, and Eli Lilly.
