Working Group Description

Members of the Systems Biology and Functional Genomics working group combine large-scale studies and computational approaches to identify the components in a system and to define the interactions between them. Befitting our department, we place special emphasis on identifying drug targets and elucidating drug action. Many members of this group are also members of the Bindley Biosciences Center, which facilitates and supports multidisciplinary research projects. Faculty in the Systems Biology working group pursue research in the following areas:

  1. Quantitative and targeted proteomics in vitro and in living cells using soluble nanopolymers
  2. Metabolomics
  3. Host-pathogen protein interaction networks
  4. System-wide investigations of protein folding, energetics, and ligand binding
  5. Functional genomics of yeast chromosome segregation
